I was not able to attend this lecture because I was taking a test during lunch, but I think that it was really cool how Freyer completely started his art experience over with a clean slate. I feel like this gives you the opportunity to truly start fresh and from scratch. Freyer's work opens my eyes to the arena of conceptual art. Unlike performance and visual art, the audience is one of the most important aspects. This is intriguing because although I create my art and think about the viewer, I never realized that it could be part of my process itself! Also, I feel like Freyer is an impulsive, yet planned artist. He lets his audience guide his work, but carefully plans how it will affect the community. Finally, his 50/50 project is particularly inspiring because it is completely for his targeted audience, those recovering from substance abuse. It is interesting because he tries and incorporates activities that are more engaging, such as talking without phones. and having dinner with strangers so these people are able to connect better. He truly is a fascinating artist.

I'm really really really hoping to get this thing in the kiln tomorrow. I started carving in the countries!! I'm super terrified that they aren't going to be in proportion because it's kind of hard to do not going to lie. I hope that I can also get the wire in on there by tomorrow because I want to be able to start painting! This sculpture has gotten pretty dry so I don't know if I'll be able to fully carve out any of the countries that I wouldn't to but I do want to do something along those lines. I don't know I'm very confused right now and I think I'm just going to have to follow my impulse tomorrow.
